With the UK summer having more showers than sunshine, I’ve been finding it really difficult to plan my running routine. So, I’ve had to rejoin the gym and travel straight to the gym from work and take my fitness kit with me. Which means double the stuff I usually have to carry!

With the extra stuff I have to take to work, I’ve been struggling with at least 3 different bags - a lunch bag, my handbag and a gym bag. That’s when I someone suggested the Goddess - the perfect work to workout bag! (That’s one benefit or working at Workplay!)

Why is the Goddess so perfect?
It has really handy and convenient compartments that I’ve found really useful. Lets start with the Gym Buddy - the cute toiletries bag that helpfully hangs in the gym showers and can fit all my toiletries. There is also a trainer compartment so that I’m able to keep smelly trainers away from my Tupperware - no one wants a smelly lunch! When searching for a spare £1 coin for my locker, I did not have to rummage through the bag thanks to the handy coin pouch near the top. That can’t be said for my gym partner - who had to squeeze her things into my locker as she couldn't find her coin! As for my keys - they were stored away safely in the side pocket - ready for me to grab out as soon as I got home! So no more standing in the rain in my sweaty lycra, unpacking my bags to find my keys sunken to the bottom with thanks to the handy key strap!

As well as all of the perfectly thought out compartments, the bag is really comfortable. Because the straps are the perfect length for most females, so that the bag sits in the right place.

I am finding the GoddessIII to be the perfect work to workout bag.

We often get asked what the difference is between the lovely Goddess II & III. Here’s a summary of the differences - so you can make the right choice for you!

First I'll start with the similarities, both bags:

  • Have a 35 litres/9.25 US gallons capacity. Just the right size to fit gym lockers and most airlines carry one allowances.
  • Feature a shoe compartment
  • Have 5 tuck away pockets inside for your 'smalls'
  • Come with taffeta laundry and shoe bag
  • Have a large document pocket in the top of the bag - that easily fits an iPad or small laptop!
  • Include the signature Workplay gym locker coin pocket
  • Feature the water bottle pouch
  • Include the 'gym buddy': the ultimate toiletries bag that can hang in gym showers or use as your small bag while using the gym.
  • Include a large wet pocket, to keep damp and dry clothes separate.

The main difference are the colours. Also, the Goddess III is made from a sheen-finish fabric and is lighter-weight. We've also added some handy key features such as:

  • Rubber coated base to keep the bag clean and damp proof on wet floors.
  • D-ring inside the bag to carry your keys or a locker padlock
  • Dedicated jewellery pocket with a zip
  • Key clip in the outside pocket for easy access to your keys or membership pass
  • A water bottle tensioner to stop your bottle falling out of the bag
  • Reinforced piping to stop wear and tear on the corners

Hopefully this has helped you choose which Goddess is for you!

It's holiday season! This time last week, I was jetting off to Prague for a short city break. Due to the short nature of the trip, I decided to travel with hand luggage only.

I packed all my items, perfectly arranged – clothes folded neatly, toiletries below 100ml and a magazine at the top of my bag! I trotted through the airport, dragging my hand luggage-sized suitcase safely to the departure lounge and onto the plane. Having run 5k on the weekend, I was looking forwards to treating myself to a couple of naughty chocs on the plane!

Rushing onto the plane, the lady looked at my bag and explained that the cabin locker space was full and I couldn’t take my bag on board. The flight attendant was ushering everyone else who had bags with wheels to leave their bags. I frantically started pulling out everything I thought I would need during the flight and rushed to the back of the queue. ‘He’s got a bigger bag than me?' -  Looking through tired eyes I noticed lots of people with bigger bags that didn’t have wheels!

Maybe the trick is to not use a bag with wheels! ‘I should have brought my Goddess bag!’ I thought to myself whilst my ears blocked as the plane took off.

During the flight, I noticed that I had only gone and grabbed the bag with my laundry instead of my treat bag – the embarrassment! I guess that bags without wheels are better to carry when flying with hold luggage only. I’ve learned my lesson!

I’ll take my Goddess bag next time. It fits EasyJet carry-on regulations and holds everything - the perfect travel companion!
