Runners all over the UK have been discovering if they got a place in the world’s largest annual fundraising event on the planet – The London Marathon 2017. Congrats if you got a place this year – hopefully you’re more excited than scared!

Now the place is secured, it’s a good idea to draft a training plan so you can ease your way into the 26.2 mile challenge! Including a healthy diet, weekly cardio & strength training to stabilise your core. There are some helpful 17 week training plans on the Virgin London Marathon website - click here

Of course, you now have an excuse to treat yourself to a new training kit! Think fresh running shoes, lycra leggings & a running bag to match! Why not give our Fleetfoot running bag a go – just like Amy Childs did when she ran the London Marathon in 2013.

(Note – Amy is wearing the Fleetfoot2) We have since upgraded this to the Fleetfoot3 MAX! – the new version can carry the larger phones that many of us have now.

Autumn is the perfect time to test out new running gear & find what works best for you – So you’re super prepared for the build up through the Winter and into Spring 2017.

On the other hand, if you didn’t get a place this year – don’t give up on your goals! There are plenty of races you can run in the meantime. To find your next race, click here & fingers crossed for next year!

It’s that time of the year when it’s freezing in the morning, mild by the afternoon and freezing again in the evening. The plummeting temperatures mean that running without a lightweight jacket in the evening is not a viable option – but where do you put it when you get too hot mid-way through your run?

You could tie it around your waist – but you’d be adjusting it every so often to stop it falling off. How many times have you had to go back down the road to grab your jacket that’s fallen on the floor or almost tripped when it gets caught in your legs? - Too many!

You could keep it on, get too hot and have to take it off for a few minutes until you’ve cooled down enough to start up your run again – but that’s just impractical!

Well, we designed the Fleetfoot3 Max running bum bag so it could carry a jacket – it has special loops in the back just to help with this common running problem.

Would this help you on your run?

With evenings getting lighter and the sun shining brighter, theres no better time to take up running than now! But it can be daunting if you're taking up running for the first time; how are you supposed to carry your phone, keys, money, water?

Running gear usually consist of lycra leggings, with no way of stuffing your phone into the tiny stretch pockets. You could also carry your phone in the pockets of your shorts - making them slide down as you run which isn't ideal. Some of my bustier friends have even carried their phones in their bra! - this sounds uncomfortable and potentially embarrassing!

So.. 'How should I carry my phone?!' you ask.

If you use a running bag or belt - you’re already ahead of the game! But most running bags are too small for most smart phones, We made sure that the Fleetfoot max 3 fits even the iPhone 6 plus!

Last week, I was welcomed to the Workplay bags team as marketing assistant! I was set the challenge of going for a run over the weekend (eek!) with the iconic organised ladies running bag - the Fleetfoot3max ! Obviously, being a girly girl, the look of the bag is important to me and thats why I chose the berry colour. Here is my review of using the running bag.

The weather was not great over the weekend which meant I had to take a jacket out with me. Usually this means tying it around my waist and having to adjust it as it slips down my legs! However, with the Fleetfoot3max I was able to tuck the jacket into the back of the bag, I even forgot it was there! (Until it started raining!).

I usually struggle to find a place to carry all the necessities when I go on a run: phone, keys, water bottle, earphones and sometimes snacks. I've used bags before but I'm put off by running to the sound of my keys! The Fleetfoot3max surprised me with the noise-muffling pocket - so I was able to run to my own music, rather than my keys clunking! I was delighted that I could fit my iPhone 6s perfectly into the bag. The handy headphone port stopped my cables tangling, as well as being able to fully close the zip on the bag, making my phone secure.

Overall, the Fleetfoot3max made my workout more enjoyable as I didn't have to worry about losing anything and literally everything has been thought of!

I am now helping to manage the social media for workplay and I'd love to hear your thoughts about your workplay bag - as I've got so much to learn! I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
