Runners all over the UK have been discovering if they got a place in the world’s largest annual fundraising event on the planet – The London Marathon 2017. Congrats if you got a place this year – hopefully you’re more excited than scared!

Now the place is secured, it’s a good idea to draft a training plan so you can ease your way into the 26.2 mile challenge! Including a healthy diet, weekly cardio & strength training to stabilise your core. There are some helpful 17 week training plans on the Virgin London Marathon website - click here

Of course, you now have an excuse to treat yourself to a new training kit! Think fresh running shoes, lycra leggings & a running bag to match! Why not give our Fleetfoot running bag a go – just like Amy Childs did when she ran the London Marathon in 2013.

(Note – Amy is wearing the Fleetfoot2) We have since upgraded this to the Fleetfoot3 MAX! – the new version can carry the larger phones that many of us have now.

Autumn is the perfect time to test out new running gear & find what works best for you – So you’re super prepared for the build up through the Winter and into Spring 2017.

On the other hand, if you didn’t get a place this year – don’t give up on your goals! There are plenty of races you can run in the meantime. To find your next race, click here & fingers crossed for next year!

It’s that time of the year when it’s freezing in the morning, mild by the afternoon and freezing again in the evening. The plummeting temperatures mean that running without a lightweight jacket in the evening is not a viable option – but where do you put it when you get too hot mid-way through your run?

You could tie it around your waist – but you’d be adjusting it every so often to stop it falling off. How many times have you had to go back down the road to grab your jacket that’s fallen on the floor or almost tripped when it gets caught in your legs? - Too many!

You could keep it on, get too hot and have to take it off for a few minutes until you’ve cooled down enough to start up your run again – but that’s just impractical!

Well, we designed the Fleetfoot3 Max running bum bag so it could carry a jacket – it has special loops in the back just to help with this common running problem.

Would this help you on your run?

Its September - the holidays are over. Not only do we have to adapt our everyday wardrobe, we also have to adapt our running kit for the changeable weather; packing away shorts in favour of gym leggings.

We wake up to the sun, and drive home in the rain – the weather is very unpredictable! This means digging out your waterproof jacket and taking it with you whilst you run. Usually, you would tie it around your waist, but it needs adjusting as its forever slipping down. This can be annoying, and dangerous if your jacket gets caught around your ankles! You can choose to run without a jacket, but no one wants to get caught in a thunderstorm without one.

One of the unique features of the Fleetfoot3 max running bag is it is designed so you can easily tuck a jacket into the back of the bag. It has two clever loops at the back, which are there so you can store your jacket out of the way. So it’s not going to annoy you when running but it will be there if you need it. The bag is virtually bounce-free, so you wont even notice it’s there like you would with a jacket tied around your waist – We’ve got you covered!

With the summer well and truly underway, going for a run is hot and thirsty work. From keeping hydrated to keeping your skin safe - you’ll find yourself needing a few more items to make your run go further!

The most important item you need when running in warm weather is definitely a bottle of water – it is so important to stay hydrated and replace the fluids lost when sweating.

Another important item to take with you on a run in the sun is sun cream! Whilst it’s easy to forget about the dangers of sunburn when you’re in the cloudy UK, but it’s so important to keep yourself protected from the harmful rays. There is always days out in the UK when you get home to realize you’ve got an awful sun-glasses burn, like a red panda - so make sure you put plenty of sun cream on your face, shoulders and chest! These are the places the sun will catch the most.

Some other important summer run items you might need are tablets, gels or an epi-pen to control your allergies! No one wants to get half way through a run with a runny noise and watery eyes from the pollen – so its best to carry prevention medicine so you can run further!

That sounds like a lot of extra stuff to carry – so how are you going to carry it? That’s where the Fleetfoot3 Max comes in, with a pouch that’s perfect to carry all the extra run essentials, handy compartments to keep your sun cream scratching your phone. Another feature is the stretch pocket to hold your water bottle and stretch loops to carry even a jacket – for when the sun doesn’t stick around.

It’s also big enough to carry most large smart phones – like the Iphone 6s!
